One of the very first finished games that I worked on. It was with a small Design and Production team of 6 people during my Erasmus Semester. It was probably one of my steepest learning curves to game design processes, especially the production processes. In this project, I was taking mainly the lead in sound design, with one of our shared main working areas being challenge and level design.
Lost Lily was an anticipated project in which all three game design departments (D&P, Programming, Visual Arts) came together in the last quarter of the year (Block D), to develop a game in union. To this project I had a bit more personal connection since this was a fresh start from a “blank page” basically, whilst “ricotta get going” was a project that was being continued from Block B onwards. Since I started my Erasmus in the middle of the year due to administrative problems, I joined in Block C. But both games and the way the University was teaching, taught me immensely much, especially having to catch up 2 Blocks and actively participating in the continuing ones, I felt like I was collecting and processing more Information in that one Semester than in three semesters in Business school. In this project, I took the lead in sound design and shared the lead in challenge design.
Ensorena, is a game idea that is probably going to come out no matter if I am the one releasing it or someone else. It's probably just a matter of time as of now. When playing around with the thought of most popular game designs, I came to a type of game idea that caught me so much, that it motivated me to actually start my entire game development phase. I wouldn't like to praise out the idea just in the open internet, though I am not against sharing it with enthusiast to get in some feedback and comments about all of it. What I am going to put out though, would be some basic Information about why this game would be revolutionary.
Imagine a round based battle royale game in a smaller “Elden Ring—Black Desert” like open world setting, and a round not taking an hour, but an entire month.
I thought this Idea itself was already groundbreaking, but as time passed, and I went into more detail, I realized there were heavy game design complications, which, if left out, would cause a lot of issues. Which made me realize that those are probably reasons why such a game doesn't exist yet.
This Idea will be developed further, unfortunately mostly on paper and limited to my knowledge in Unreal Engine, but due to the heavy work load that I can't afford in life (not even the broken down version, as people often suggest). I will try to bring it to life, once I have the possibility with a team or through a pitch. So long as my work environment leads me there.
One of the few games I actually played intensively is league of legends. Since the lore some champions have managed to capture my interest, it was always facinating to browse through champions that could exist and bring value to the rift. Though Yone, is realeased for some time now, I had created a champion design for him before, from which one ability actually made it to his Kit today.
